This is one of my proudest work to date, and I don’t want to belittle it by explaining these images. I’ll tell you a story instead.
I missed my bus earlier this morning and had to wait longer than usual. While waiting, a strong gust of wind blew and the trees around me starting shedding leaves.
I traced a few leaves as they descended down the ground where people would carelessly walk past them. Some fell slowly. Some faster than others. Some just suspended in air as if reluctant to end its flight.
I wondered how would it feel like to be one of those yellow leaves waiting for yet another wind to take me away, or for someone to sweep me into oblivion.
In that short span of time between the gust of wind and the leaves’ final descent, I realized some of the most beautiful things in our life happen in the delicate spaces between life and death.
It was really quite beautiful.
